Greece will hold a launch event for the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) 'Ideas' Programme in Athens on 18 January 2007.
European Research Council (ERC) Chairman Professor Fotis Kafatos will present the mission of the ERC and the current call for proposals for the Specific Programme 'Ideas' of the Seventh Framework Programme.
A large cross-section of the Greek research, academic and business communities is expected to participate. Speakers will include the Greek General Secretary for Research and Technology and the President of the National Hellenic Foundation for Research.
The 'Ideas' programme aims to enhance dynamism, creativity and excellence in European research at the frontier of knowledge by supporting 'investigator-driven' research projects across all fields, by individual teams competing at a European level.For more information (in Greek), please visit:
