Textile and clothing industries technology transfer day

A technology transfer day on new technologies for the textile and clothing industries will take place on 29 June 1994 in Famalicao, Portugal. The event is being organized by the Portuguese VALUE Relay Centre in collaboration with the Portuguese Textile and Clothing Industries National Technology Centre (CITEVE).

During the event, contractors and coordinators of ongoing and recently completed Community-funded research projects under the BRITE/EURAM and ESPRIT programmes will present results.

Presentations will cover the following topics:
- Development of a system to detect and mark defects (University of Ghent, Belgium);
- Fit-optimized pattern design on the interactive graphics screen (Eurolog Service GmbH, Germany);
- Study of a modular device permitting automatic recognition of flexible material defects (Institut Textile de France);
- Distributed and cooperative 3D fashion and modelling design systems (ADETTI, Portugal);
- Development of an integrated system to optimize flexibility in apparel production (University of Minho, Portugal);
- Summary of current CITEVE/CRAFT projects (CITEVE, Portugal).

The event will also provide an opportunity for representatives of local industry to discuss new scientific developments and to consider ways in which future collaboration and technology transfer might take place to the benefit of both the Portuguese and European textile and clothing industries.
