A conference entitled 'Increasing innovation capacities of companies', organised by the Innovating Regions in Europe (IRE) secretariat, will take place in Riga, Latvia, on 29 and 30 March.

The aim of the event is to present successful examples of IRE member initiatives that have encouraged traditionally non-innovative companies to innovate. Featured regions will include Shannon (Ireland), Castilla y León (Spain), Brittany (France) and North Sweden.

Group discussions will address the reasons that companies are sometimes unable or unwilling to innovate, and how these can be overcome, as well as what regional actors can do to motivate companies. For further information, please click
