The European Association of Automotive Suppliers, CLEPA, will host a technology day entitled 'Future automotive technologies: road safety, environment and intelligent components' on 27 June in Brussels, Belgium.

The purpose of the event is to raise awareness of the research being carried out by European automotive suppliers with the primary concern of promoting safer, greener and more intelligent component parts.

Viviane Reding, Commissioner for Information Society and Media, will open the event with a keynote speech on future EU policies with regard to the i2010 intelligent car initiative and information and communication technologies (ICT) for the automotive industry.

Also attending, Günter Verheugen, Commission Vice President, will speak about better regulations, the Commission's Cars 21 communication and the integrated approach focussing on the competitiveness of the automotive industry.For more information, please visit:
