CHALLENGE annual conference

The fourth annual conference of the EU-funded project CHALLENGE (Changing Landscape of European Liberty and Security) will take place from 4 to 6 July in Brussels, Belgium.
The conference will discuss the new institutional framework for the EU, as proposed for the new Treaty, as well as other issues closely related to the role played by democratic oversight and judicial control in the building of a common European space of freedom, security and justice.
The CHALLENGE project seeks to facilitate a more responsive and responsible assessment of the rules and practices of security, and is examining the implications of these practices for civil liberties, human rights and social cohesion in an enlarged Europe.For more information, please visit:
