A workshop to prepare a new agenda for science communication will be held in Strasbourg, France on 8 and 9 November. The event is organised by the EU-funded EARTHWAKE project, which aims to use the appeal of popular strands of European TV to create a new awareness and interest in science.

At the event, TV executives, scientists, science communicators, TV writers and producers will explore models for European collaboration, how best practice can be spread and how targeted money can act as a catalyst. The workshop will also involve the public, advertisers and web designers.

Unlike science programmes which often address the converted, EARTHWAKE reflects the new philosophy of 'science in society', introducing much more science into drama, wildlife programmes and sports, which command huge audiences.For more information, please visit:
