The European Parliament's Scientific Technology Options Assessment body, STOA, will be holding its Annual Lecture in the European Parliament in Brussels, Belgium, on 27 November.

The topic of this year's lecture will be 'The Future of the Brain', with a keynote speech by Baroness Susan Greenfield, the Director of the Institute for the Future of the Mind and a leading expert in the field of neurodegenerative diseases. This will be followed by a question and answer session.

Prior to the keynote speech, a workshop will take place with presentations by Professor Christine Van Broechhoven ('Europe the international L'Oréal-UNESCO Award for Women in Science' laureate 2006), Professor Jes Olesen (European Brain Council) and Professor Esther Stoeckli (Developmental Neuroscience, University of Zurich).

The event, under the patronage of the President of the European Parliament, will be followed by a reception for the participants.For further information, please visit:
