The UK Research Office, in its capacity as the UK National Contact Point, is to hold a series of information events for researchers interested in applying for the Advanced Investigator Grant from the European Research Council (ERC). The events are aimed at researchers based in the UK or moving to the UK.

Each session will provide participants with an overview of the ERC in the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7), focusing on the Advanced Investigator Grant scheme. Participants will learn about the proposal format and the key points that they are required to address in planning, writing and costing a proposal.

The programme of events is as follows:

- Newcastle University - 3 December;
- University of Cambridge - 5 December;
- University of Edinburgh - 9 January;
- Queen Mary, University of London - 17 January;
