A seminar on how to boost the involvement of small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) in research and development (R&D) calls will be held in Brussels, Belgium, on 14 January. The event will focus in particular on SMEs in the information and communication technologies (ICT) field.

The seminar will address the specific difficulties encountered by small ICT enterprises wishing to play a significant role in publicly funded projects at the national and European level.

SMEs from various ICT sectors will describe barriers and opportunities they have met in recent cases. In a second session, institutional funding bodies will present their initiatives to lower the obstacles to greater SME participation in the ICT field. A final session will address the different tracks envisaged to go forward in the harmonisation of supporting measures for SMEs between European, national and regional initiatives.For more information, please visit:
