A symposium on apricot breeding and culture will be held in Matera, Italy, from 16 to 20 June.
At the event, speakers from around the world will review current research trends, present new discoveries and make plans for future research projects in all areas of apricot production.
The main topics to be discussed are:
- the multifunctional role of agriculture;
- biology and physiology;
- orchard design and management;
- fruit technology: quality, post-harvest and processing;
- fruit and human health benefits;
- cultivars, rootstocks, propagation and breeding;
- socio-economic aspects and marketing;
- plant protection: pests and diseases.
In addition to the scientific programme, there will be a pre-symposium tour, specialised field excursions and a day trip to the Pantanello Experimental Station in Metaponto for the Annual Fruit Exhibition.For more information, please visit:
