The Austrian Society for Semiconductor Physics and Technology is organising an international winter school on new developments in solid state physics, to take place from 18 to 22 February in Bad Hofgastein, Austria.

The event will encompass the most important developments of the last few years in the field of semiconductor-based nanostructures. Well-known international experts from the field will speak about the following topics:
- quantum Hall effects;
- graphene and nanotubes;
- photonics;
- transport in wires and rings;
- nanotechnology and nanodevices;
- spin physics and spintronics;
- quantum dots;
