An international conference on radiation doses management in the nuclear industry will take place on 9-11 October 1995 in Windermere, United Kingdom.

The aim of the conference is to provide a forum for the presentation and discussion of experience in the management of radiation exposure in the nuclear industry.

The revised recommendations of the International Commission on Radiological Protection in Publication 60 have lead to a number of changes in European and national legislation. These changes are exerting pressure to reduce levels of radiation exposure and to demonstrate that exposure is as low as reasonably achievable.

The conference will cover the following topics:
- Standards and regulation;
- Design;
- Operation , maintenance and refurbishment;
- Decommissioning;
- Dosimetry;
- Control of radioactive effluents.

The emphasis of the meeting will be on the management of the exposure of workers, but will include developments in the control, measurement and reporting of releases of radioactivity in liquid and gaseous effluents from nuclear plants.

Prospective authors are invited to submit eight copies of their synopses of 500 words. These should be in English outlining the scope of their paper and the principle points which they consider would benefit from discussion.
