Launch event of new project on ICTs and ageing
We increasingly live in a more gadget filled digital environment, with smart objects that communicate with each other and to their users. Among these devices are Assistive Technologies, which are designed to support the day to day activities of people suffering from disabilities. They include a telephone that can check a person's pulse and glucose levels, a wireless phone that helps the intellectually disabled navigate public transportation systems utilising artificial intelligence, or even a toilet that checks waste for signs of disease
The project partners plan to provide a systematic assessment of the social, ethical, and privacy issues involved in these and similar technologies. The project's goal is to produce a dialogue roadmap that may drive European policy in this very sensitive area.To register for the event, please contact:
