A public discussion on the European Commission's Lead Market Initiative will take place in Brussels, Belgium, on 12 March.
From the Commission, Jiri Plecity from Vice President Günter Verheugen's cabinet will be present, along with Pierre Vigier, head of innovation policy at DG Enterprise.
Six emerging markets in which the EU has the potential to become world leader have been identified by the Commission: e-health; protective textiles; sustainable construction; recycling; bio-based products and renewable energies.
