The European Science Foundation (ESF) and the University of Barcelona, Spain, are organising a conference on pharmacogenetics and pharmacogenomics in Sant Feliu de Guixols, Spain, from 27 June to 2 July.

The conference will focus on adverse drug reactions, providing a forum for researchers to learn about the latest developments in safety pharmacogenomics. Topics to be addressed include general aspects of adverse drug reactions as well as randomised control trials and ethical, legal and social issues in safety pharmacogenetics.

Adverse drug reactions are a major problem for healthcare services, the pharmaceutical industry and regulators. This has been highlighted recently with some high-profile drug withdrawals and regulatory decisions. There is an urgent need to develop strategies during both drug development and clinical use to reduce the burden of adverse drug reaction.For further information, please visit:
