The EU-funded PHeLINet ('Polarized Helium Lung Imaging Network') offers an advanced training school on magnetic lung resonance imaging using hyperpolarised gases in Madrid, Spain, from 26 to 31 May.

Benefitting from the knowledge and know-how of the PHeLINet partners and professionals invited from other academic and hospital institutions, the event will mainly consist of tutorials, which will cover advanced topics on gas production and management, instruments and cutting edge developments for magnetic resonance imaging with hyperpolarised gases.

The event will also feature presentations on how imaging techniques help in human diagnosis, understanding the biological basis of lung diseases and in drug discovery. Furthermore, techniques such as micro-positron emission tomography, micro-computer tomography and optical imaging and multi-modality imaging will be presented.

The course is suitable for radiologists, pneumologists, physiologists, physicists or anyone interested in the role that hyperpolarised gas imaging plays in understanding lung function. For further information, please visit:
