European Symposium on Optics for Environmental and Public Safety

A European Symposium on Optics for Environmental and Public Safety will be held on 19-23 June 1995 in Munich, Germany. It is sponsored by the European Commission, DG XII.

The symposium will comprise the following 15 conferences:

- Environmental monitors and hazardous waste site remediation;
- Air toxics and water monitors;
- Pollution of the troposphere and stratosphere, exchange of air masses and related monitoring;
- Chemical, biological and environmental fibre optic sensors;
- Smart structures: Optical instrumentation and sensing systems;
- Substance identification analysis and technologies for law enforcement;
- Traffic safety technologies;
- Distributed and multiplexed fibre optic sensors;
- Personal identification technologies;
- Visibility and cloud measurements;
- Lidar and atmospheric sensing;
- Vegetation stress;
- New techniques for gas measurements, indoor air monitoring, and standardization and quality assurance issues;
- Diffuse sources and urban areas;
- Combustion diagnostics.
