Summer school on sociology and the quality of life

The EU-funded CINEFOGO Network of Excellence is organising a summer school on sociology and the quality of life on the island of Crete, Greece, from 14 to 18 July.
The summer school aims to explore how theory and methods can be combined in the study of societies in Europe in general and the study of quality of life in particular.
The event will address the following topics:
- environment and the quality of life;
- social cohesion;
- social inclusion/exclusion;
- social integration;
- social and cultural empowerment;
- social policy and the quality of life.
The CINEFOGO 'Civil Society and New Forms of Governance in Europe - the Making of European Citizenship' network aims to enhance the understanding of social and democratic processes, citizenship and democratic participation in Europe. It seeks to provide knowledge about civil society, citizenship and social protection, nourish a public debate on governance and strengthen intellectual cooperation.For further information, please visit:
