The NACRE ('New Aircraft Concepts Research') project will hold its second conference from 8 to 10 July in Greenwich, UK.

The conference aims to extend the audience to members of the (aeronautical) science and technology community outside the NACRE consortium to share information on the drivers for research on unconventional aircraft concepts and on the NACRE project achievements to date.

NACRE is a 30-million euro research and technology project, partly funded by the European Union, with the objective of creating, developing, validating and integrating technologies to enable novel aircraft concepts, targeting breakthrough improvements in environmental friendliness, comfort and economics.

The research within the project is focused on three areas:
- wing system and control surfaces;
- power plant system design and integration;
