The fifth International Conference on Nanosciences and Nanotechnologies (NN08) will be held in Thessaloniki, Greece, from 14 to 16 July.

NN08 focuses on the latest advances in nanosciences and nanotechnologies and promotes profound scientific discussions between different disciplines. Scientists from multidisciplinary research and application areas will join this conference in order to discuss the possible benefits of nanoscience and nanotechnology in their research and development efforts. In addition to oral and poster presentations and a nanotechnology instrumentation exhibition, the conference will include invited lectures from leading scientists and industry experts dedicated to the following topics:
- organic electronics and photonics and nanoelectronics;
- nanobiotechnology and nanomedicine;
- thin films, meta-materials and spintronics;
- nanomaterials, nanoengineering and nanomechanics;
- nanotechnology in energy and environment;
- theoretical and computational modelling at the nanoscale;
- nanotechnology in safety and education;
- nanometrology, instrumentation and tools;
- commercialisation of nanotechnology.

Parallel to the conference, there will be the Summer School on Nanosciences and Nanotechnologies (SS-NN08) taking place from 12 to 18 July. Now in its second edition, the summer school will review the current state of knowledge in the various fields of nanosciences and nanotechnologies with a special focus on training of the next generation of researchers in the fields. SS-NN08 includes lectures by distinguished scientists on current trends and state-of-the-art techniques as well as experimental demonstrations in laboratory facilities.For further information, please visit:
