The EU-funded HYDRA project is organising an international research workshop on the Internet of Things and Services on 18 and 19 September in Sophia-Antipolis, France.

Composed of theoretical and applied research presentations, prototype demonstrations and discussion panels, the workshop is designed for the exchange of insight between researchers and experts in the areas of semantic interoperability, ambient intelligence, sensor networking, and generally the Internet of People, Things and Services. It will take place as part of the Smart Event 2008, a conference dedicated to various aspects of information and communication technology.

The HYDRA project aims to design the required middleware facilitating semantic interoperable security: a 'Networked embedded system middleware for heterogeneous physical devices in a distributed architecture'.For further information, please click:
