World Stroke Congress, Vienna, Austria

The World Stroke Organization will hold the sixth World Stroke Congress from 24 to 27 September in Vienna, Austria.

This biennial congress examines all aspects of stroke, aiming to provide future global strategies to combat the second most common cause of death worldwide. Scientific sessions, teaching courses and plenary sessions will cover basic research and clinical applications as well as recovery and rehabilitation. More specifically, topics include:
- acute interventions in acute ischemic stroke;
- stroke prevention;
- hemorrhagic stroke;
- clinical trials: hot topics in clinical trial design;
- basic science: brain repair and recovery;
- advances in diagnostic and therapeutic ultrasound;
- stroke services: organised stroke care - a cost-effective approach;
- stroke and immunology.
