The International Disaster and Risk Conference (IDRC) will take place in Davos, Switzerland, from 25 to 29 August.

In over 100 sessions, workshops and events, the conference entitled 'Public-private partnership Key for integral risk management and climate change adaptation' will cover topics such as harmonisation of climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction, critical infrastructures, integral risk management procedures, pandemics and diseases, and many more issues.

The conference will take an integrated, multidisciplinary approach when addressing the different kinds of risks affecting society today. Risks that might be far beyond any particular stakeholder's capacity to control and that may adversely affect multiple parties across geographic borders, sectors and industries.

The Joint Research Centre's Institute for the Protection and Security of the Citizen (IPSC) is collaborating in the organisation of this conference and will participate in several sessions, such as 'Pandemics: preparedness and response', 'Early warning and alerting systems', 'Natural hazards: integral risk management', 'Protection of critical infrastructures' and 'Standards for security'.For further information, please visit:
