The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) is organising its World Conservation Congress to take place from 5 to 14 October in Barcelona, Spain.

The event, which is held every four years, aims to improve how the natural environment for human, social and economic development is managed. It will be composed of a forum run by IUCN members and partners discussing cutting edge ideas, thinking and practice, a members' assembly, an exhibition and excursions.

The IUCN expects more than 8,000 leaders from government, the public sector, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), business, United Nations agencies and social organisations to attend in order to discuss, debate and decide solutions for the world's most pressing environment and development issues.For further information, please visit:
