The Italian Region of Basilicata is organising an international conference on 'Earth observation and new technologies for environmental monitoring, assessment and management' on 30 and 31 October in Matera, Italy.

As part of the European Open Days, experts from the Network of European Regions Using Space Technologies (NEREUS) as well as from other Italian and European institutions interested in Earth observation and environmental monitoring will discuss experiences and best practices in the field.

In addition, the event aims to promote partnerships for future EU projects through four thematic workshops dedicated to the Global Monitoring for Environment and Security (GMES), GALILEO, the European Space Agency Integrated Application Promotion (ESA-IAP) and territorial cooperation. During the thematic workshops, participants will present their project ideas for the upcoming calls for tenders to officials and potential partners.

The target audience includes regions, universities, research centres, large enterprises, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), agencies for environment, and representatives of the European Institutions and Member States.For further information, please visit:
