The French VALUE Relay Centre, ARIST, will organize a technology transfer symposium on "Intelligent techniques in an emerging Europe", to be held in Lille, France, on 30 November 1994.

The main topic of the event will be intelligent systems. The principles and the high potential of fuzzy technology will be described and the following discussed:

- How do fuzzy systems operate?
- What are the advantages of applications on fuzzy technologies?
- How can projects be organized efficiently?
- What is the benefit of successful projects?

During the event, numerous possibilities for applications will be discussed on the basis of examples from national and European industry and research projects in practical operation. Parallel workshops will be held, dealing with examples of inspection, diagnostic and control systems.

Coordinators and contractors of ongoing or recently completed Community-funded research projects will present their results. They will consider ways in which future collaborations and technology transfer might take place to the benefit of French and European industries.
