The EU-funded OMEGA ('Home gigabit access') project is organising an open event on home networking in Rennes, France, from 5 to 6 February 2009.
Leading European researchers will present state-of-the-art, in-home networking technologies and OMEGA's concepts and technological solutions. The event will have two parts, consisting of a tutorial and a workshop.
Tutorials will take up most of the first day, addressing the following topics:
- wireless home networking based on radio technologies;
- power line communications;
- optical wireless technologies.
The second day will be dedicated to workshops on:
- efficient wireless distribution of electronic media in ultra-high rate home networks based on radio;
- the challenges for one gigabit per second power line communications in home networks;
- hybrid wireless optics for home networks;
