The eighth ManagEnergy annual conference will be held on 11 February 2009 in Brussels, Belgium, during EU Sustainable Energy Week.
The theme of this year's event is 'New opportunities for local energy actors', and will look at local initiatives for energy efficiency, combating climate change and the opportunities for local energy actors. The plenary conference will include:
- new financing for energy efficiency and climate change mitigation measures;
- key issues related to effectively promoting energy efficiency and tackling climate change at the local level;
- methodologies for monitoring CO2 emissions, and the strengths and weaknesses of different approaches;
- the new ManagEnergy programme and services for local energy actors;
- awards honouring good practice in local energy efficiency and renewable energy.
