The TOPCOMBI ('Towards optimised chemical processes and new materials by combinatorial science') project consortium will hold a conference on combinatorial catalysis research and high-throughput technologies in Gandia, Spain, from 26 to 29 April.

The conference will address the latest advances in the fields of combinatorial catalysts research and high-throughput technologies (HT). Plenary lectures and keynote speeches will come under the following headings:
- 'Knowledge-based HT materials synthesis and testing for catalysts discovery';
- 'Computational screening for new catalysts';
- 'Use of high-throughput techniques for the development of thin functional coatings';
- 'High-output experimentation in polymerisation catalysis';
- 'Optimising solid oxide fuel cell performances by combinatorial designs';
- industrial case studies and success stories;
- academic case studies in catalysis and separation (heterogeneous catalysis, homogeneous catalysis, polymerisation catalysis, biocatalysis).

TOPCOMBI, funded under the Sixth Framework Programme (FP6), aims to develop alternative catalytic synthesis methods answering demands in chemical production by applying high-throughput and miniaturisation methodologies.For further information, please visit:
