A conference on new European legislation on packaging and packaging waste will take place in Brussels on 10-11 October 1994.
The conference will address the current issues surrounding the European Commission proposal for a Council Directive on packaging and packaging waste. The conference will be addressed by Mr. Yannis Paleokrassas, Commissioner responsible for the environment, and will cover the following topics:
- Packaging legislation in the Member States;
- Refuse management and the responsibility of local authorities.
