The CINEFOGO ('Civil society and new forms of governance in Europe - the making of European citizenship') project is organising a conference on classes and civil society from 1 to 2 July in Sofia, Bulgaria.
The relationship between social classes and the civil society has been one of the central themes in sociology and social sciences in general from the 19th century to present. The purpose of this seminar is to get together researchers studying various aspect of class - civil society relations.
Main themes of the conference are:
- the relationship between class structures and civic organisations;
- citizens' journalism, the internet and new group (status, class) formation;
