The Alexandria Chamber of Commerce is planning an environmental week under the title 'Towards a cleaner Mediterranean region' in Alexandria, Egypt, from 13 to 16 June.

In addition to a symposium specifically dedicated to 'Selected environmental issues in the Mediterranean region', the following discussion topics are on the agenda:
- climate change;
- natural resources;
- environmental pollution;
- maritime transport and marine environment;
- environment measures and regional trade;
- environmental economics;
- environmental policies; and
- towards a common environmental strategy in the Mediterranean region.

Expected visitors to the symposium include decision makers from Egyptian and foreign corporations representing the chemical, oil and gas, petrochemical, cement, fertilizer, tannery and paper industries as well as hospitals and governmental agencies concerned with the environment.For further information, please visit:
