The European Science Foundation (ESF) and Linköping University will hold a conference on 'Philosophy for science in use' from 28 September to 2 October in Linköping, Sweden.

This event will look at how the current philosophy of science can be brought into line with the need to understand, analyse and contribute to scientific endeavours. So far, philosophical attention has mainly been directed towards the justifiying of theoretical claims in order to establish stable, unambiguous results. At the same time, justificationary demands on contextual and specialised uses of theoretical insights have been largely neglected. The task of the event is to discuss a re-orientation of current philosophy of science.

The conference is specifically intended for early stage European researchers in philosophy of science and related fields.For further information, please click:
