The EU-funded CIVICWEB ('Young people, the Internet and civic participation') project will hold its final conference on 30 June and 1 July in London, UK.

CIVICWEB analysed the role of the Internet in promoting civic engagement and participation among young people aged 15 to 25. It focused specifically on the range of emerging civic websites. Potentially, they constitute a powerful form of non-formal learning, affecting the development of social capital and political, social and economic participation.

The purpose of this seminar is to bring project participants together with a wide range of experts from across Europe to discuss the key findings of CIVICWEB. The seminar on 1 July is designed to promote debate about Europe-wide dimensions and the importance of these issues for young people. A public seminar on the previous evening (30 June) will focus specifically on the work of youth activist groups.For further information, please visit:
