Euroscience Mediterranean Event, Athens, Greece

The Euroscience Mediterranean Event (ESME) 2009 will take place from 15 to 19 October in Athens, Greece.

ESME aims to bring together scientists, young researchers, government officials, policy makers, academics and communications experts from all fields of science. The event is designed to assess the challenges facing scientific development in the Mediterranean area and focus on future opportunities via keynote lectures, workshops, papers and an exhibition.

The following themes will be addressed:

- science for security and stability;
- aspects of science education;
- networks and opportunities for research cooperation;
- science and innovation policy;
- mobility in science research;
- science communication;
- web 2.0 and science;
