The Geriatric Medicines Working Party of the European Forum for Good Clinical Practice (EFGCP) will hold a workshop entitled 'The challenge of an ageing population for medical research: one-third of the EU population will be more than 60 years of age in 50 years time' on 19 and 20 November in Brussels, Belgium.

Experts in the fields of clinical research, ethics and philosophy, as well as social and patient organisations and pharmaceutical regulatory bodies, are being brought together to explore the issues surrounding the effects of an ageing population on drug development and medical research.

The workshop aims to offer guidance to researchers and set an agenda for stakeholders in order to facilitate quality ethical clinical research and drug development across the whole of the European Union.For further information, please visit:
