The EU-funded MONACO-EXTRA ('Monolithic adsorbent columns for extracorporeal medical devices and bioseparations') project is organising a summer school on 'Porous hydrogels for biomedical applications - from cytapheresis to tissue engineering' from 29 September to 2 October in Antalya, Turkey.

Porous hydrogels have recently emerged as a new class of materials with a unique combination of properties. These properties have attracted significant attention and have potential applications in the biomedical field.

The goal of the summer school is to bring together scientists who are developing and producing new materials and researchers interested in porous hydrogel applications. It is hoped that constructive dialogue will result in new materials with advanced properties for an even boarder range of applications.For further information, please visit:
