MindTrek conference, Tampere, Finland
Focusing on social media and Web 2.0 the event will look at the latest trends, innovations and business phenomena. The academic part of the conference will feature the following three tracks:
- social media: Social media and Web 2.0 are applied in increasingly diverse ways in private and public communities. Traditional communication and expression modalities are being challenged, and wholly new practices are being constructed in the collaborative and interactive media space.
- ambient and ubiquitous media: This conference track focuses on the definition of ambient and ubiquitous media from a viewpoint combining ambient media between technology, art and content. The track revolves around applications, theory, art-works, mixed-reality concepts, Web 3.0 and user experiences that make ubiquitous and ambient media function.
- digital games: Digital games and play are currently undergoing many transformations; gaming devices are becoming truly connected, players are finding more possibilities for collaboration, and, simultaneously, games are being applied in novel ways and mobile usage contexts.
There will also be an open source workshop called 'Openmind' on Wednesday 30 September, organised in cooperation with the Finnish Centre for Open Source Solutions. For further information, please visit:
