Internet Governance Forum Italia, Pisa, Italy
Following last year's event in Cagliari, Sardinia, the Forum will focus on the future of Internet governance, in line with the strategies of the Italian National Research Council.
The event's primary aim is to establish a permanent process that seeks to involve Italian stakeholders in a permanent dialogue and analysis of the themes of Internet governance. Participants will be able discuss and define a common position on relevant issues ahead of the next international 'Internet Governance Forum' (IGF), which is due to held in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt in November 2009.
During three days, working sessions will focus on the following topics:
- keeping a balance between security and freedom of expression;
- public and private aspects of social networks;
- copyright: between protection and dissemination of knowledge;
- the debate between anonymity and recognition in identity networking;
- Internet rights and principles;
- experiences and best practices in network management, art and culture, new forms of enterprise, public administration and future technologies.
All institutions, organisations and experts on the themes of Internet governance are invited to participate.
The event will be held in Italian.For further information, please visit:
