The Network of European Regions Using Space Technologies (NEREUS) is organising an evening with Members of European Parliament (MEPs) on 17 November 2009 in Brussels, Belgium.

The event is intended to give a new impulse to the dialogue with the newly elected European Parliament (EP). Besides introducing NEREUS, the organisers intend to launch a debate on the current space Global Monitoring for Environment and Security (GMES) regulation.

Hosted by two members of European Parliament from France and Germany, the event will give the floor to one of the rapporteurs of the EP's Committee on Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE), MEP Norbert Glante, who will report on the current state of affairs. Additionally representatives of the European Commission and the European Space Agency (ESA) will share their views with the participants.For further information, please visit:
