Conference on role of environmental stressors in disease development, Miami Beach, US
Experimental data suggests that exposure to environmental hazards during fetal and early postnatal development can lead to functional deficits and increased disease risk later in life. This is because gene expression and the resulting epigenetic changes may constitute an important mechanism for the programming effects. Since the epigenetic system is most vulnerable to disruption during specific times during development, timing of environmental exposures is critical for their effects on disease etiology.
The objective of the conference is to examine animal and human data on a disease by disease basis in order to review the current state of literature, identify effect mechanisms, examine research gaps and challenges and integrate basic and applied science.For further information, please visit:
