International conference on programming languages, Madrid, Spain
Programming languages are tools used to create software programmes which can process information and control the physical and logical behaviour of machines. Programming languages support countless everyday processes in not only computers but also mobile telephones, home appliances, cars and elsewhere. The symposium will be a forum for the discussion of all aspects of programming languages and systems, with an emphasis on how principles underpin practice.
A number of related events will be held around the time of the conference. Topics are set to include:
- practical aspects of declarative languages;
- partial evaluation and programme manipulation;
- declarative aspects of multicore programming;
- types in language design and implementation.
