The third Europa Jupiter System Mission (EJSM) instrument workshop will be held from 18 to 20 January 2010 at the European Space Agency's (ESA's) European Space Research and Technology Centre (ESTEC) in Noordwijk, the Netherlands.

The workshop will address technical challenges (in particular the radiation environment and planetary protection requirements) that need to be taken into account by potential EJSM instrument providers.

The ESA-NASA Europa Jupiter System Mission consists of two primary flight elements operating in the Jovian system: the NASA-led Jupiter Europa Orbiter (JEO), and the ESA-led Jupiter Ganymede Orbiter (JGO). JEO and JGO will execute a choreographed exploration of the Jupiter system before settling into orbit around Europa and Ganymede, respectively. The orbiters will carry complementary instruments to monitor dynamic phenomena, map the Jovian magnetosphere and its interactions with the Galilean satellites, and survey the habitability of the Jupiter icy worlds. For further information, please visit:
