A conference on benefiting from EU research projects organised by the ECOINNO2SME ('Supporting small and medium-sized enterprises in disseminating and exploiting research results') project will be held in Brussels, Belgium on 29 January 2010.

ECOINNO2SME has sought to identify and support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the environment and eco-innovation sectors, focusing on SMEs involved in EU-funded research and development projects, but have not been fully able to commercialise and exploit the results of the research and development (R&D) that has been undertaken.

Success stories and examples of best practice will be presented and organisations will have the opportunity to be 'matched' with each other to support potential future collaboration, technology development and further R&D activities. Officials from the European Parliament, European Commission (EC) and various EC agencies will also be on hand to provide valuable information about funding opportunities for SMEs.

Two other projects are providing support to the workshop - USEand DIFFUSE ('Towards excellence in research dissemination') and PRESTO ('Identification of priority research topics for SME associations in the construction sector with a focus on new technologies in the energy, information and communication technology and new materials domains'), each of which have similar aims and objectives, but focusing on different sectors. For further information, please visit:
