A three-day workshop on ultra-luminous X-ray sources and middle weight black holes will be held in Madrid, Spain from 24 to 26 May 2010.

Ever since their discovery over 25 years ago, the nature of ultra-luminous X-ray sources (ULXs) has remained a mystery. The workshop will look to decrypt the physical nature of ULXs by bringing together theorists and experts from the fields of cosmology, X-ray, stellar dynamics, and AGN.

The event will also be an opportunity to explore topics of common interest, discuss the latest developments and results, and the impact of upcoming observatories and space missions for black hole research.For further information, please visit:
