A three-day conference on mathematics education for teachers (Nordic GeoGebra 2010) will be held in Reykjavik, Iceland from 12 to 14 August 2010.

This conference aims to bring together researchers and teachers from the Baltic and Nordic countries interested in GeoGebra for mathematics education. Plenary sessions and GeoGebra teaching demonstrations, along with presentations of research, are included in the programme.

GeoGebra is free interactive geometry software intended for educational use. The project started in 2001 and continues with the help of open-source developers and translators all over the world. GeoGebra is written in Java and available for multiple platforms; it allows a user to create and then manipulate geometric constructions, primarily in plane geometry. A user starts construction by putting a few points and using them to define new objects such as lines, circles or other points. After more work, the original starting points can be moved, and the user may see how the construction changes.For further information, please visit:
