The 'International planetary probe workshop' (IPPW-7) will be held in Barcelona, Spain from 14 to 18 June 2010.

The event will focus on understanding the technological challenges and scientific opportunities associated with entry, descent, landing and flight in planetary atmospheres. The workshop will also discuss studies on upcoming major missions of National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), as well as the European Space Agency's focus on its Cosmic Vision and Aurora programmes.

Scientists, students, engineers, mission designers, policy makers and stakeholders interested in the exploration of solar system bodies with substantial atmospheres are expected to attend.

The workshop will cover a number of specific issues on planetary probes, including:
- outlook for probe missions,
- mission concepts and studies,
- entry sensors, payloads, and systems,
- science from entry and descent probes,
- terminal descent, landing site selection and trajectory reconstruction,
- probe guidance, navigation and control,
- EDL technology developments,
- new technologies,
- airless body surface missions,
- drag, aerobraking and aerocapture techniques,
