Conference on 'The European Union in international affairs 2010', Brussels, Belgium
The event will look at various aspects of the European Union and roles that it plays in the international system. Among the topics which will be covered at the event are:
- the EU in the global economy,
- regionalism,
- the EU in global development,
- the role of European Monetary Union in the global monetary system,
- the Europeanisation of national foreign and defence policies,
- the idea and practice of the EU as a model,
- internal dimensions of the EU's role in global development,
- European military crisis management,
- the impact of EU enlargement on the creation of a 'single voice for the EU'.
The conference is organised in the context of the GARNET ('Global governance, regionalism and regulation: The role of the EU') Network of Excellence, which is supported by the Sixth Framework Research Programme (FP6).
