Ninth Workshop on the Economics of Information Security, Boston, US
The event will be a forum for interdisciplinary scholarship on information security, combining expertise from the fields of economics, social science, business, law, policy and computer science.
This edition of the workshop will build on past efforts using empirical and analytic tools to not only understand threats, but also strengthen security through novel evaluations of available solutions. The event programme will look to address a number of questions, such as:
- How should information risk be modelled given the constraints of rare incidence and high interdependence?
- How do individual and organisational perceptions of privacy and security colour their decision-making?
- How can we move towards a more secure information infrastructure and code base while accounting for the incentives of stakeholders?
The programme also includes a keynote speaker and a panel on policy for payment system security. Topical sessions will include data breaches and organisational security, privacy and controversial social issues, empirical studies, economic and policy considerations for information service providers, scale and the economics of the cloud, and open source and security management.
The workshop is co-located with the 11th Association for Computing Machinery Conference on Electronic Commerce. For further information, please visit:
