The International Polar Year Oslo Science Conference will be take place from 8 to 12 June 2010 in Lillestrøm, Norway.

The event will be an opportunity to display and explore the full breadth and implications of International Polar Year (IPY) activities, highlighting the global impact of the changes that have been observed in the polar regions. Presentation topics will range from IPY research to education and outreach, demonstrating IPY contributions to new knowledge about climate change. In particular, six themes will be featured:
- linkages between polar regions and global systems,
- past, present and future changes in polar regions,
- polar ecosystems and biodiversity,
- human dimensions of change: health, society and resources,
- new frontiers, data practices and directions in polar research,
- polar science education, outreach and communication.

The conference programme will also include the Polarcinema (a festival for films and TV-documentaries related to polar themes) and Polarexpo (an exhibition for polar-related industries and businesses, as well as all governmental and private organisations operating in the polar sciences).

The International Polar Year is a large scientific programme focused on the Arctic and the Antarctic. For further information, please visit:
